The East West Community Clinic is a service designed to provide low-cost access to Chinese Medical healthcare for children. The clinic offers treatment for a wide range of children’s health issues, including illness and disease, trauma, and disabilities or special needs.

The East West Community Clinic also operates as a training program for the professional development
of registered practitioners of Chinese Medicine, under the supervision of experienced senior practitioner,
Dr. Peter Gigante.

The clinic is now accepting new patients at its purpose-built site in Romsey.

ABOUT TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic, natural approach to the maintenance and improvement of health and the prevention and treatment of diseases. It includes herbal medicine, acupuncture, and massage, applied according to patient needs and preferences.

TCM has its roots in over 2,000 years of scholarship and clinical practice. In a modern Western setting, Chinese medicine can play an important role in family health and complex disorders.

ABOUT DR. peter gigante

Dr. Peter Gigante is registered Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner, acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Dispenser, with a special focus on children’s health. He has been in private practice in Australia for
30 years, with current premises in South Melbourne in addition to the Romsey practice.

The foundation of Dr. Gigante’s practice is the physical medium of tactile therapy, shiatsu and paediatric massage; as well as TCM Orthopaedics and traumatology in the treatment of patients with disabilities and special needs. His practice also incorporates acupuncture, and the prescription of Chinese Herbal Medicine. Dr. Gigante also sees adults of all ages.

The clinic is continuing to accept patients during the current COVID related conditions and operates during the hours of 9.30am - 12.30pm.
